Hesburgh Forum May 2019
Restoring Public Trust in the Government, Judiciary, and Media
Join us for the next Hesburgh Lecture on May 22nd at Union League Club. Our theme is 'Restoring Public Trust in the Government, Judiciary, and Media'. Cocktail hour will start at 6:00 pm, and the presentations will start at 7:00 pm. We will be joined by Judge Thomas M. Durkin, Michael Warnecke, and Dana O'Leary. Don't miss out on this special event!
The world today seems more turbulent and fraught with peril than ever before. Civility is decreasing at an alarming rate and faith in institutions such as the government, media, and the judiciary is eroding. How did this occur and what do these institutions need to do to help restore public trust?
Come join the Notre Dame Club of Chicago for its signature Hesburgh Forum at the Union League Club of Chicago on May 22nd and hear from the Honorable Thomas Durkin, Mike Warnecke, Dana O'Leary and a special guest panelist about their roles in these institutions and their perspectives on current affairs. No legal or political background is required to enjoy this event, and all Club members are encouraged to attend. Attendees will enjoy a cocktail reception before the event starts and a catered dinner during the panel discussion.
Recently, the Hesburgh documentary was released in theaters. During a Question and Answer session after the movies, the directors gave the attendees a call to action: we can all act like Father Ted by working for justice and improving our communities and local governments. By attending the Hesburgh Forum, we hope to inspire you to act as a force for good, wherever you go.
