Our Message:
As the Richard in Richard's Riders I guess you could say I'm pretty lucky. To have such a remarkable group of people commit to training and raising money for a cause that I am so passionate about is nothing short of AMAZING!!!
If you think about it, between the training rides, the cross training, and the fundraising this dedicated group of people will log over 500 hours preparing for this one event.
As team captain I will use my experience as a Spinning instructor, two time Ride for AIDS veteran, and seasoned fundraiser to help guide and support them through their training and fundraising when needed.
As we embark on this journey as a team for the next five months we will persevere and we will succeed BUT we are missing a crucial piece of the puzzle—your support.
Without support from people like you the programs at Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN) would not exist. I believe the mission statement at TPAN sums it up best—
"TPAN empowers people living with HIV through peer-led programming, support services, information dissemination, and advocacy. We also provide services to the broader community to increase HIV knowledge and sensitivity, and to reduce the risk of infection."
For this we train, we ride, we sweat and we take on the journey of 200 miles and the journey of a lifetime to empower, educate, and uplift those living with this devastating disease. The shame and the stigma for those living with this disease stops here with us—with you.

About Our Cause:
Over 25,000 individuals in the Chicago area are living with HIV, many of whom are not even aware of their HIV status. Ride for AIDS Chicago beneficiaries work with all impacted communities in the Chicago area, working to slow the spread of the virus and assure those infected receive proper medical and support services.
