Fundamentals of Critical Care Support

This is a 2-day course

Lecture topics:
Patient Assessment, Trauma/Burn Management, Diagnosis and Mgt of Respiratory Failure; Mechanical Ventilation I, II; Electrolyte and Metabolic Disorders, Monitoring Blood Flow/Acid-Base Balance; Management of Life Threatening Infections; Acute Coronary Syndrome, CPR-Resuscitation;  Critical Care in Pregnancy, Pediatric Critical Care, Neurologic Support, Ethics in Critical Care; Special Considerations, Diagnosis and Mgt of Shock.  Skill stations and small breakout groups both days to reinforce lectures.

 Continental breakfast and catered lunch provided both days

This course has been approved for 16 hours MA OEMS continuing Education Hours for EMT and Paramedic levels. 

 14.75 hours have been provided by the Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association

Please note:  If you are a foreign national (NOT a US citizen, you must register and submit a copy of your passport/visa to ma326@bostonmedflight.org 14 days prior to the course for vetting by base security.  No exceptions can be made to this.
