This event is essential in allowing the USO to continue to serve the brave men and women defending freedom. The Salute is attended by over 800 guests whose help ensures that this year over 180,000 military personnel and their families are served through the USO of Illinois’ programs and centers. It is only through the generosity such as yours, that the USO is able to continue to provide valuable quality of life services 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year to those bravely serving!
This year, the USO is thrilled to announce the Master of Ceremonies will be Chicago’s own, actor, Bill Murray. We will also be presenting the Heart of a Patriot Award to LeeAnn Tweeden for her continued support of the troops on the frontlines and at home. The not to be missed entertainment for the evening will be the LT Dan Band featuring Gary Sinise. Military performances by the 50 State Flag Unit, 85th Division Army Band and the United States Coast Guard Silent Drill team will fill the evening with pageantry and military precision! The USO of Illinois Star Spangled Salute is a local, relevant and steadfast way to show your support of the men, women, and families of the U.S. Armed Forces!
