As the city slowly recovers and we begin a new week, we sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are doing ok. We know that this has been a devastating week of unbelievable hardship and disruption and hope that you are all safe and returning to some state of normalcy.
Children’s Aid and the Dolce Notte Committee spent a considerable amount of time trying to determine the most appropriate course of action for next week’s event. Given that many of our members, friends, and neighbors are still struggling with the aftermath of Sandy, and out of respect for those who have suffered great loss, we have decided to cancel. Again, this was not an easy decision but we feel that being sensitive to people’s feelings and needs is the right thing to do at this time.
We plan to send individual emails to ticket holders, donors, and sponsors, offering them the option of a full refund, a credit towards the Spring Event, or contributing 100% of their donation to Hope Leadership Academy. We will also be sending something to our raffle prize donors as well--offering them similar options. If you would like to donate to Hope Leadership Academy, please use the Sponsor Hope Leadership Academy link or Donate link.
We would like to congratulate our Dolce Notte Committee who worked tirelessly to secure a venue, procure generous sponsors and amazing raffle prizes, and put the word out to sell tickets and publicize the event.
We are all disappointed that this event could not take place, but we hope that this will generate even more enthusiasm and support for our fundraiser on May 8, 2013 at the David Rubenstein at Lincoln Center.
Again, thank you for your continued support.
