  2009 Oregon Thespians Improv Festival
Hosted By: Roosevelt HS

Register online for this fun day of interactive play with fellow Thespians.  Please make sure your numbers are firm before registering as you will not be able to decrease the number of students you register.

Please enter your Troupe Director or Sponsor Information in the Participant Contact Information section, including your SCHOOL NAME where it asks for COMPANY NAME.

This online registration system allows you to pay by credit card, but we prefer payment by check.  Simply print out your online receipt and use it as your invoice.  Send a copy of the receipt with your check (made out to OREGON THESPIANS) to Jo Lane at Roosevelt High School.

Note that lunch will not be available on site.  Students should bring a sack lunch.  Food purchase options (McDonalds, KFC, Dairy Queen, and Fred Meyer) are within a 5 minute walk of campus.

Get ready for a fun time!

The Improvisation Festival is a unique gathering that provides the opportunity for students to work with others from across the state and to meet new people.

When you arrive, your group will be given a packet with slips of paper with different numbers on them. Each student gets a slip which assigns him or her to different teams. Each team is made up of students from different schools.

Some of the slips will be colored to designate a team leader. Sponsors are responsible for selecting students from their groups that could function as the team's organizer and spokesperson, usually an upperclassmen.

The teams meet for about an hour and work up a scene based on two or three inspirations provided by the Host Thespians. The teams then present their scenes to two different judges in two different rounds, with different teams in each round. Scores are tabulated and the eight best teams perform at finals in front of the entire group. The judges score the scenes and, after a bit of entertainment, announce the winners.
