Please join Jewish Council for Youth Services (JCYS) for an afternoon of golf at Twin Orchard Country Club on Monday, September 20th, 2010. The JCYS/Camp Red Leaf Golf Outing includes lunch, an afternoon on the greens, and a cocktail and hors d’oeuvre reception.
Your support of this year’s Golf Outing will make a significant difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, emotional needs, and behavioral difficulties. At JCYS Camp Red Leaf, children and adults receive an opportunity to enjoy a traditional summer camp experience, just like so many of their typically developing peers.
“It feels good as a family to know our son is somewhere he is liked, accepted and safe.”
During overnight summer camp sessions and weekend respite care, campers explore their physical surroundings, build friendships, and acquire key social and life skills. Activities include therapeutic art projects, nature walks, field trips, sports, campfire singalongs, swimming, and much more.
“There are not many places that roll out the red carpet for Megan. But that’s exactly what happens at JCYS Camp Red Leaf… the staff greets her enthusiastically, and her ‘eccentricities’ are celebrated.”
As campers experience personal growth and self-confidence, their primary caregivers benefit from this opportunity to take a break from the everyday demands of caring for an individual with special needs.
Your generosity helps provide vitally needed program subsidy and scholarships for these families. Out of all 50 states, no other state provides less funding in support of programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities than Illinois.
We hope to see you there!
