Very few musicians of any stripe so personify a musical genre as completely as Tony Furtado embodies Americana roots music. He is an evocative and soulful singer, a wide-ranging songwriter, and a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist, adept on banjo, cello-banjo, slide guitar, and baritone ukulele who mixes and matches sounds and styles like bluegrass, blues, folk, country, and rock with the flair of a master chef. Tony's albums like "Roll My Blues Away" (1997), "American Gypsy" (2002), and most recently, "The Bell" (2015), are staples on KSUT's Music Blend.
Local pianist Jonas Grushkin will open the show at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets cost $32 day-of-show (which includes a $2 per ticket service charge to offset credit card and web hosting fees), and can be purchased online at www.ksut.org. Unsold tickets will be available at the door on the night of the show. Due to limited seating, there are no price discounts for children.
