Together, we are making a difference for the 50 million people worldwide with epilepsy.
- 45,000 children are diagnosed with epilepsy in the U.S. every year.
- There are nearly 50,000 seizure-caused deaths in the U.S. every year, more than the number caused by breast cancer.
The mission of the Danny Did Foundation is to prevent deaths caused by seizures, and we have two main goals: (1) advancing awareness of Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and improve communication about SUDEP between doctors and those afflicted by seizures, and (2) the mainstreaming of seizure detection and prediction devices that may assist in preventing deaths caused by seizures.

Recent Danny Did achievements include:
- Seizure alarm monitors bought for 72 families in need across 31 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. And counting!
- A grant awarded to Smart Monitor to advance clinical trials of the SmartWatch device at Stanford University. This wristwatch device continuously monitors, detects and alerts a caregiver via a smartphone upon the onset of a seizure.

Ongoing clinical trials at three Chicago hospitals to test the Emfit Movement Monitor. These trials will provide data that doctors need to make an educated recommendation to their patients, and could potentially lead to FDA approval, which often sparks insurance coverage.

Distribution of over 20,000 Seizure Safety informational brochures to families, hospitals, doctors and epilepsy organizations across the U.S.This material includes information on SUDEP.
- Building an international awareness campaign that joins social media, video productions and digital strategies with traditional outreach including billboards, print advertising and news media placements.
