
Thank You for your support of the Promise Run for Wellness!
Help us make this second annual event bigger and better than last year. Bring your friends, and family to Race, Run, or Walk and raise funds for your favorite local charity. Create you personal fund-raising Web page when you register for the Promise Run for Wellness. In 2008, the event attracted 509 runners and 90 promise dashers. Schools have the opportunity to compete and win the Mayor's Cup Throphy.
To help promote community health and wellness, Rush-Copley Foundation and community partners are hosting the second annual Promise Run for Wellness — a running and walking event on Saturday, April 18, at 8:30 a.m. at Phillips Park in Aurora.
Community partners for 2009 include the Aurora University Nursing Education Program, Communities in Schools and Rush-Copley Family Medicine Residency Program.

The event has course lengths that are USATF certified for runners of all abilities including:
10K Race — The 10K race is ideal for running enthusiasts and athletes. The race will be timed and prizes will be awarded to winners.
5K Race — The 5K race is a great workout for both avid and casual runners. The race will be timed and prizes awarded to winners.
3K Fun Run/Walk — This run is timed for students and adults. The walk is ideal for families, kids, teams or those who are not avid runners. The Mayor's Cup will be awarded to the school that has the greatest number of student participants in this category. Every student who participates will receive an award.
Promise Dash — A 50-yard fun run for children ages 3 to 9 years old. Promise dashers will receive a t-shirt and ribbon.

Ozzie the Cougar and 95.9 FM " The River" will be at the event.
Citizen Utility Board will be giving away energy saving CFL light bulbs.
