The Associates Council of The Children’s Aid Society invites you to join us for our first annual FORWARD Spring Cocktail Event on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Southwest Porch located at Bryant Park. The full evening’s program will feature incredibly tasty treats from Tom Collicchio’s ‘wichcraft restaurant, a variety of specialty cocktails, wine and craft beer, an auction and raffle and a presentation of the Early Childhood Program’s achievements over the past 10 years and their goals for the year.
The members of the Associates Council of the Children’s Aid Society are motivated, young professionals who are championing The Children’s Aid mission. Serving as advocates, we raise awareness and funding by volunteering and organizing activities and events, supporting the effort “to help children in poverty to succeed and thrive.”
To achieve our goal of raising $14,500, we need your help! Please join us at our event on May 11th by purchasing your tickets here. If you are unable to attend or would like to make an additional donation, please consider a donation or sponsor a FORWARD friend! We appreciate your support.
For 158 years, The Children’s Aid Society has worked tirelessly to be a part of the solution for over 70,000 children and families facing the instability, stress and risk of living in poverty. Children’s Aid offers services to children from birth to young adulthood and their families. The CAS Early Head Start, Head Start and Day Care programs support the early development of approximately 530 children (birth to five) across eight sites in the neediest areas -Harlem, Washington Heights and the South Bronx. Our Early Childhood programs in Greenwich Village and Yorkville neighborhoods serve an additional 1,200 children. The results of these programs are amazing: 85% of the children score within developmental ranges at the end of the school year and 95% of the parents participate.
