For close to 100 years, the B.R. Ryall YMCA of Northwestern DuPage County has been dedicated to strengthening individuals and families through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body FOR ALL. We believe that everyone in our community deserves to be healthy and have access to our services, but as a nonprofit we need your help to make that happen.
The needs of our community outweigh the resources we have to offer. Last year alone we provided financial assistance to 300 families totaling more than $200,000. This assistance helped ensure that financial status didn’t stand in the way of children having a safe place to go while their parents were at work; of individuals finding healthy outlets and getting needed support to battle chronic disease or mental health issues; and of families spending quality time together—strengthening bonds and improving lives.
In addition to addressing financial needs, we are also implementing important educational initiatives that promote healthier decisions and lifestyles. Last fall we launched The Y Kids Fitness Program—offering a fun approach to fitness through exercise classes for elementary-age children, as well as the CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) Program—promoting physical activity and healthy food choices for our preschool students. And this year, we launched the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program to impact the prevalence of the disease through programming for individuals who are pre-diabetic. And we will not stop there. We will continue to develop important and innovative programming to meet the needs of our neighbors.
The Y can do more and we can serve more, but we cannot do it alone. Whether you can give $5 or $500, your gift will make a difference. Please give whatever you can to help us impact lives.
