Mr. Ramirez grew up in Idaho being exposed to sports, the outdoors, and the performing arts. After high school, he became a snowboard instructor at the Sun Valley Ski Resort where he soon established a passion for dancing ballet and outdoor rock climbing. He moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 2005 to dance professionally with the Columbia City Ballet. He became a performing arts guest artist throughout the southeast as well as an outdoor rock climbing instructor. In 2012, Mr. Ramirez embarked on a new career with the Columbia Fire Department where he currently serves as a Senior Firefighter. In 2017, Senior Firefighter Ramirez was awarded the Columbia Fire Department Medal of Honor twice for putting his life on the line in two separate lifesaving events during the 2015 Hurricane Joaquin and the 1,000-year flood. In 2013 Mr. Ramirez enlisted in the South Carolina Army National Guard (SCARNG) as a Blackhawk Helicopter Repairer and after a 2016-2017 overseas deployment to Kuwait and Iraq he was accepted by SCARNG to attend flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama. While attending flight school, Mr. Ramirez earned the United States Army Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for contributing over 500 hours to the Fort Rucker, Enterprise, and Dothan Communities. Having graduated from the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence in May 2019, Mr. Ramirez has recently returned to South Carolina. Mr. Ramirez shares his passion for community service and the performing arts with his dance partner for life, Kiyomi Ramirez, a staff member of the Southeastern School of Ballet. Eduardo and Kiyomi are first time home owners in Blythewood, S.C. where they enjoy spending quality time with each other and their four children, Ava, Ellyana, Leonardo, and Valentino.
