Summer Lee Frazier
Summer Lee Frazier came to South Carolina six years ago from Chicago, IL where she was a semi-professional Latin dancer and instructor. Summer has been dancing and teaching for over 15 years and her specialties include salsa, bachata, cumbia, cha-cha, and mambo. She holds a B.A. in Spanish and a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology. After a successful pancreas transplant at MUSC last April to cure her 30 year battle with Type 1 Diabetes, Summer was finally able to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a Class 1 deputy. She joined the Richland County Sheriff’s Department a few months after her transplant as a deputy and instructor in the Training Division where she currently oversees the Pre-Academy Legals Program and has developed the Spanish for Law Enforcement program, among other responsibilities. In her free time she loves working out, playing the flute, traveling, cooking, volunteering at church, and of course dancing. She and her two cats live happily in the Columbia area.
