Although I grew up on Long Island, New York, I have been in South Carolina since coming to Furman University in 1974. I began my career as a public school teacher and school counselor, 3 of those 9 years in Lexington School District #1. After having my first and only child, I left the schools and opened a private practice of therapy and coaching, and have been active with that ever since. I specialize in working with couples and also working with clergy and seminarians from many denominations. I love my work! My husband, Nick, and I are also busily involved at our church. In my free time, I enjoy cooking and entertaining, writing, (my book, Moment to Moment: The Transformative Power of Everyday Life was awarded Spirituality and Health’s top 100 books of 2013), spending time with friends and family, traveling, music, and dancing! Nick, and I have been married 40 years and our daughter, Maria, lives in NYC. I am honored, anxious, and amazed that I have been given this opportunity to take part in the CB Dancing With The Stars. What a fabulous opportunity to raise money for an organization, Epworth Children’s Home, that really does heroic work in the world.
