Epilepsy impacts 50,000,000 people around the world. 50 million. 45,000 children are diagnosed with epilepsy every year. Some have dozens of seizures a day. Danny had four that his family knew of; the fifth took his life just before his fifth birthday. 

The mission of the Danny Did Foundation is to prevent deaths caused by seizures, and we have two main goals: (1) advancing awareness of Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and enhancing communication about SUDEP between doctors and those afflicted by seizures, and (2) the mainstreaming of seizure detection and prediction devices that may assist in preventing deaths caused by seizures.

Recent Danny Did achievements include: 

• A three-hospital clinical trial of a device called the Emfit Sleep Monitor. This study will provide data that doctors need to make an educated recommendation to their patients. 
• Collaboration with the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago to create and distribute over 8,000 Seizure Safety/SUDEP information brochures to families, hospitals, doctors and epilepsy organizations across the U.S.
• Subsidizing seizure alarm monitors for 19 families in 13 different states, coast to coast. 

The Foundation’s name originates from the last line of Danny’s obituary: “Please go and enjoy your life. Danny Did.” Those words are important to our foundation as we work to affect positive change and spread awareness about SUDEP. Your $25 tax-deductible donation will help us to make a difference.
