HOW TO REGISTER FOR EVENTS

ONE REGISTRATION PER MILITARY FAMILY FOR ALL USO EVENTS

Ticket reservations are to be made in good faith.

Upon receiving your RSVP via this system, your attendance is expected. Barring extreme circumstances, a 'no-show' or cancellation within 24 business hours will place you on lock-out status from USO of Illinois event ticket reservations: 1st time = 90 days & 2nd time = 180 days

These restrictions are in place to help ensure those who wish to take advantage of complimentary ticket offers have that opportunity. Thank you for your understanding!

CANCELLATION INSTRUCTIONS

If you need to cancel any portion of your reservation, send an e-mail to

usoevents@usoofillinois.org

 with the guest name(s) and event you are cancelling. E-mails must be sent no later than 24 business hours before ticket pick up begins. Any e-mails received less than 24 business hours’ notice will result in your name being added to the disqualification list for the listed length of time.

TICKETS CANCELLED ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT ARE CONSIDERED WASTED TICKETS.

Cancellation by text or phone call will not be accepted.

SESSION 1: 9AM–10:30AM: Minecraft Modding Class-For youth in 1st-4th grades

Participants in grades 1st-4th will build their own Mods for Minecraft using a graphical modding tool that allows them to create complex Mods and learn about the JAVA programming language. Once they build their own Mods, they will be able to be utilized in their own personal Minecraft game. Block Mods, Weapons Mode, Animated Image, Spawn Entities and more will be built during the session. Each participant will receive a 1-year subscription to Beanz Magazine, courtesy of BMO Harris Bank.

SESSION 2: 10:45AM–12:15PM: Minecraft Modding Class-For youth in 5th-8th grades

SESSION 3: 12:30PM-2PM: Raspberry Python Class – for youth in 9th-12th grades

This class is ideal for students in grades 9-12 who want to explore how software and hardware combine to MAKE and CREATE. With the Raspberry Pi we will explore how to use Python coding and to control hardware LEDS, motion sensors and cameras. This class encourages kids to tinker and ask “What If!?!” Each youth participant will receive their very own Raspberry Pi, courtesy of BMO Harris Bank.

Please register your child for the correct session - projects will be age appropriate.

In order to receive the Beanz Magazine subscription or Raspberry Pi, youth must be registered and attend the event.

Because of the limited space within the event venue, parents are not permitted to stay for the sessions. Children must be dropped off by a parent with a valid military or dependent ID (there are coffee shops and plenty of shopping in the Oak Park area).

Licensed youth ages 16-18 may drive themselves to the event but must have a dependent military ID & bring all necessary waivers (will be emailed a few days prior to the event). Youth arriving without Dependent ID & waivers signed by a parent will not be allowed to participate. For military youth without their own mil ID card, please call 312-822-6699 for alternative method to verify status.

Youth can only attend one session.

Registration for this event is very limited.

Check-In for each session begins 10 minutes prior to each session start time. Do Not Be Late! Parents must pick up their children at the session end time.

Light snacks will be provided.

Free participation for this event is available to Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve Military youth ONLY.

Retired, IRR, DOD, and Civilians are not eligible to register for this USO Event.

Farm is open from 9AM-10PM, but USO representatives will only be distributing entrance passes, donut tokens and pumpkin tokens from 8:30AM-9:45AM. USO representatives will NOT be staying past 9:45AM. Registration is required on this site to be part of USO group.

Bengston’s Pumpkin Fest

SPECIAL NOTES: Upon check-in at the USO table, each qualified member of your registration will receive complimentary entry to the Fest and one (1) token for a hot fresh apple cider donut. Each dependent youth will also receive one (1) token for a mini pumpkin, courtesy of USO of Illinois. The Fest is open to the public, so those who do not qualify under USO guidelines (see below) are still able to attend the Fest, but will not receive complimentary entrance, donut or pumpkin from USO. Please visit Bengston’s website for non-USO guest information.

Farm is about 90% paved so bring your strollers or wagons! Feel free to bring your own lunch, but no big coolers, glass items or alcohol is allowed at the venue.

Event is for military youth ages 0-2 (USO Diaper Division) & 3-10 (USO Discovery Kids) & 11-18 (USO Teen/Tween) along with a parent(s).

This event is not for military without children between 0-18 years old.

A Current Military ID Card will be REQUIRED for entry.

If you are interested in attending a Quad City River Bandits game, please call USO Rock Island at (309)206-4253 to reserve your tickets.

All reserved tickets are to be picked up at USO Rock Island (building 110 on the Rock Island Arsenal).

Tickets are to be picked up at USO Rock Island the day of the game by noon with the exception of weekend games they are to be picked up on that Friday before by noon.  If there is a holiday on that Friday all tickets for that weekend would be picked up on Thursday by noon.
