He is a retired American professional road racing cyclist from 1998 to 2013. He is the son of US Bicycling Hall of Fame, John Vande Velde. One of Christian's many accomplishments is riding with the US Postal Service that brought Lance Armstrong to victory in 1999 and 2001.
